In a horrifying incident that took place at a video game tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, a gamer turned gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire on his competitors. The attacker, identified as 24-year-old David Katz, tragically claimed the lives of two people and left nine others wounded before taking his own life. The entire incident was live-streamed during a Madden NFL event held at a shopping center.
Distressing footage captured the harrowing moment when the shooting erupted. As two competitors prepared to engage in a game, the background erupted with shouts. Commentators, who were providing coverage of the match, fell silent as the first shots reverberated through the audio. Chillingly, a red dot resembling a laser pointer from Katz's weapon can be seen on the chest of one of the victims, Eli Clayton, just moments before the attacker opened fire.

Amidst the chaos, at least 12 shots can be heard on the livestream as panic ensues, and people scramble to find safety. Katz, apparently frustrated after being eliminated from the Madden NFL video game tournament, resorted to violence, targeting both fellow gamers and innocent bystanders. Notably, Katz had previously achieved success in the gaming world, having won the Madden 17 Bills Championship in February 2017.The winners of this year's tournament in Jacksonville were slated to advance to the video game finals in Las Vegas, where a prize pool of $165,000 awaited.

reports later identified the two victims of the shooting as 27-year-old Taylor Robertson from Ballard, West Virginia, and 22-year-old Eli Clayton from Woodland Hills, California. Both individuals had attended the American football video game tournament in downtown Jacksonville when tragedy struck.
